A Wonderful Day in the Neighborhood

Today was beautiful here in Florida! Are you suprised to see me type that? I know, I know - I'm such a gloom-and-doom kinda person who likes it when it rains here, but today I needed the sunshine.

Rich and the guys had only 4 foreign students today, so they worked 6am-2pm today instead of their normal later schedule, so we took advantage of it!

I've been looking for dining room chairs for the table we got off of Craigslist for free a few weeks ago, and haven't had much luck getting some. So we hit up Goodwill in Fort Walton Beach to see what goodies they had.

When we got there we saw 6 formal dining room chairs that we think would match our table. They were in really great shape, only thing is they were a lite blonde wood, where as the table is pecan, and obviously changing out the fabric on the chairs. I ended up getting 2 of the 6 they had, mainly to see if I am going to be able to sand down in the grooves the chair has, and then I'll see if it'll take stain. If it does, we'll go back and get 2 more chairs and the table shall be complete and have matching chairs instead of the mis-matched look I was orginally going for.

After that we headed back home where Rich took me out to eat at Applebee's. I haven't been inside a restaurant in months becaues I've been cooking so much! It was nice to let someone else do it for a change and just eat when it was brought to me.

I only have one pair of shorts, and it was a pair I bought 3 summers ago, and they are actually too big! But, they're too cute and I refuse to not wear them because I couldn't for the first 2 summers I had them, and now I can.

Well at Walmart they had bermuda shorts on sale for $12 this week! I picked me up 1 pair last night, and so far I'm loving them. Above and below are the pics of them. I already had the shirt, well several shirts to match!

And on a happy note, I went from a size 26 jean to a size 20 in those shorts! Granted, I'm aiming for smaller, but I'm happy with the 20 right now. I'm not in a big rush, I'll get there, I know it.

We had to go on base today, and I decided to snap a pic of the plane as we were at red light. I'm still so jaded to it all. Not nearly as much to the Air Force base because, come on, they're planes going all over the place and they're LOUD! But if they're were tanks coming and going like at Fort Hood, I wouldn't think much about it.

Remember me calling you Mom when I saw the deer in my backyard at 'Hood? See. Jaded. I got excited about deer in my yard, but not about tanks going across the road, and I'm a freakin' redneck!

Man do I miss the country where it's not military related.
